About Dr Iris Wang

Care at every stage of your reproductive health

Dr Iris Wang is a private obstetrician, gynaecologist and fertility specialist based in Sydney working in association with the Mater Hospital and IVFAustralia. Her main practice is in Chatswood.

Highly respected in her field, Iris finds her work immensely rewarding. She loves being able to give her patients the results they have often been working towards for so long – whether that is creating their family after many years of fertility issues, guiding couples through the journey of pregnancy or providing support for gynaecological concerns or menopause.

Caring, sincere and professional, Iris is known and respected for always doing the best by her patients. And her patients appreciate her wide-ranging expertise, which means they can come back to a familiar, trusted face in later pregnancies or fertility treatments.

An IVFAustralia fertility specialist

Infertility is an ever-changing field, characterised by cutting-edge developments in immunology and genetic technology. As part of IVFAustralia, Iris works with a large, patient-focused team of doctors and support staff and has access to collective resources, ideas and advanced fertility treatment.

Iris is also actively involved in mentoring the next generation of specialists, supervising students from the University of Notre Dame, who undertake clinical placements in her rooms.

Experience and qualifications

Iris received her medical degree from the University of Sydney, and undertook specialist training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and St George Hospital.

She then continued with subspecialty training in the area of infertility and reproductive endocrinology at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and undertook research into the mechanisms of abnormal menstrual bleeding, for which she was awarded Doctor of Medicine by the University of Sydney in 1994.

In 1995, Iris was the first female doctor in NSW to achieve a Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) from The Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists – the highest qualification in the field. She is also a Fellow of the RANZCOG.

She speaks English and Mandarin fluently.
